Boardwalk, beach bars and a lot of people on rented scooters.
PB is San Diego’s party beach: a busy boardwalk, Crystal Pier, taco shops on every corner and bars along Garnet Avenue. Up the hill, Kate Sessions Park has one of the best picnic views in town.
Good for: Groups of friends and people who want to walk to the sand in flip-flops.
Skip it if: You want quiet after 10 p.m. PB does not do quiet.
Getting there: Bikes and scooters rule the boardwalk. Parking on summer Saturdays is a game show you’ll lose.
