Barrio Logan is the heart of Chicano San Diego. Giant murals cover the freeway pillars at Chicano Park, Logan Avenue is full of galleries and small shops, and the food is the real deal.
Good for: Art lovers, history buffs and very hungry people.
Skip it if: You only have time for beaches. But you’d be missing out.
Getting there: It’s a short ride from downtown, and the trolley stops nearby. Go in the daytime and eat your way down Logan Ave.
